From Overload to Flow: A Practical Story of Collaborative Team Reorganization
When tech companies grow, their initial team structures often become a bottleneck, leading to communication overhead and slowed delivery. This talk shares insights from a transformation journey at a growing tech company, where I collaborated with technical consultant Susanne Kaiser to facilitate the development of new team structures using Domain-Driven Design, Team Topologies, and Wardley Mapping. The unique aspect: Instead of implementing changes top-down, the development teams were actively involved in shaping their future setup. I’ll share how we combined collaborative workshops, domain analysis through Event Storming, and team self-selection to create sustainable team structures. Get practical insights into the process and key learnings about making organizational change truly collaborative.
